He has been a collaborator of the Foundation since 2012, joining the board in May 2016 and succeeding the recently deceased Francisco Pacheco Isla in the role.
The Puerta de América Foundation is a non-profit entity with the foundational goal of preserving, disseminating, and developing cultural, historical, and artistic values within the Spanish context. Since its establishment in 2011, it has carried out various activities focused on historical and cultural dissemination, particularly in relation to the upcoming celebration of the Fifth Centenary of the first circumnavigation of the globe, although some of its members have been involved in this project since 2001.
He has edited and published two books on this milestone, built an equatorial clock marking the “Zero League” of the first circumnavigation of the globe in Bajo de Guía, and, through Francisco Pacheco, delivered lectures on the subject in various cities across Spain, including the Casa de América in Madrid.
