Glenn Stephen Murray Fantom is a prominent numismatist and expert in monetary history, born on November 28, 1952, in Los Angeles, California. He became a Spanish citizen in 2001 and has lived in Segovia since 1988. He is renowned for his work in the rehabilitation of the Segovia Mint, a historic monument dating back to 1583. For his efforts in preserving and promoting cultural heritage, he received the Grand Prize European Union of Cultural Heritage/Europa Nostra in 2009.Throughout his career, he has published numerous specialized works in numismatics, including “El Real Ingenio de La Moneda de Segovia: Maravilla Tecnológica del Siglo XVI” and “Guía de la Ceca de Segovia, tomo 1, Monedas de Segovia”.He has also served as president of the Friends of the Segovia Mint Association, where he has promoted research and conservation of the region’s monetary history.His dedication to the study of numismatics and his commitment to preserving cultural heritage have been instrumental in the international recognition of the Segovia Mint as a site of historical and cultural importance.
