The Segovian Headquarter in Madrid, a centenary institution, has been the home of the Segovians in Madrid since 1920 and aspires to be a meeting point for Segovians scattered around the world and for those who have or feel some connection and/or sympathy for this Land of Old Castile, now one of the nine provinces that make up the Autonomous Region of Castile and León.
The Segovian Headquarter in Madrid is a large home where all Segovians from around the world and friends of this ancient land are welcome.
The exhibition
Saturday, 18th November – 1:30 PM
The Segovian Headquarter in Madrid is hosting the travelling exhibition on La Carrera de Indias at its premises on Calle Alburquerque, located just above the renowned Clamores concert hall.
On the upcoming 18th of November, the President of the Association himself, Ricardo A. Fernández González, will inaugurate and present this magnificent exhibition to all attendees.
In the exhibition hall of the Segovian Centre of Madrid, visitors will be able to enjoy a series of informative panels featuring texts and images about La Carrera de Indias. Additionally, they will have the chance to admire a collection of artworks created using the pyrography technique, crafted by a Segovian artist.
Charity event
At the inauguration of the exhibition La Carrera de Indias – Bridge of Cultures, attendees included, among others, Sonia Juárez (President of The Segovian Headquarter in Madrid), Ricardo Fernández (President of MUCAIN), and a large number of guests who enjoyed first-hand Ricardo’s extensive knowledge on the subject.
The progress of the Virtual Museum project was showcased, and some secrets regarding the short- and long-term plans for the initiative were also revealed.
After viewing the exhibition and attending the conference, guests gathered around the table to savour an exquisite cocido madrileño, continuing their friendly conversations about La Carrera de Indias.
Thanks to the charity stew event, funds were raised to be invested into the project, with the aim of improving the current exhibition and extending its reach even further.
A heartfelt thank you to all who visited, for dedicating your valuable time to this exciting project, and above all, for contributing your own grain of sand to support it.
