Guillermo Nicieza

Researcher, disseminator
Guillermo Nicieza Forcelledo, born in Gijón in 1990, combines his training in Medicine and Surgery with research and dissemination of naval history.

He specialises in the imperial navies of the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries, especially since the creation of the Royal Navy, also covering the navies of Castile and Aragon until the War of Independence.

He uses Twitter as a tool to disseminate nautical and military knowledge, bringing together topics such as naval battles, historical milestones, ships and illustrious sailors. He is currently working on a series of books on this subject and has given lectures on the Spanish Navy. He has also received the Universitas Summa Cum Laude award from the GEES Group at the Army War College for his informative work.
